| 13 July 2007 DIY giant Wickes has been confirmed as one of the household names of the new leisure and retail park in Wisbech. American-themed diner Frankie & Benny’s, an unnamed Chinese restaurant, Dreams - the bedding company and Pets at Home are all close to penning signatures as well. Comet, Harveys and a northern-based sports retailer could also be part of the £18 million pound development. Although the original cinema has pulled out, another multiplex operator has been line up which could produce the first all-digital cinema in the country. After a slight delay, site clearance is due to take place later this month with a completion date now Christmas 2008. Jonathan Clogg, development director of Vyrnwy Estates, said “The new cinema is very much back on track. I’m delighted to be able to put Wisbech firmly on the map” “In particular, I think that what we have in a Wisbech location will give King’s Lynn a run for its money. We have more important announcements on the way that will stun King’s Lynn.” |
