Thieving van driver at large!

17 May 2006 A white Transit van attempted to enter a site in Weasenham Lane via the main entrance earlier in the morning of Thursday 11th May. Security staff believed the driver to be a courier delivering to stores and raised the barrier. When seen driving past the delivery area, staff were notified and the person was found helping himself to copper/metal scrap from a skip in the waste area. He was suitably attired, wearing High Visibility clothing etc. He was asked to remove the items from his van. He then left the scene whilst muttering that he did this at most sites and that companies had given him permission. Please be aware that this vehicle may target other businesses in the area. Please report any suspicious vehicles. If you witness a crime in progress always call 999.
